in the mood for totes
i really want totes now.
one that is cheap and sort of...vintage, craft looking, like the ones from the market. just like the one carrie was carrying in the market in morocco in satc 2. to spice up a feminine chic style.
another one that is...preferably...fendi...to add glamour to a cool easy loose style. http://www.fendi.com/#/en/women/accessories/classicalbags/0 or lanvin...http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/94418
i'll keep imagining...

Vanilla beans in moisturiser
got this organic moisturiser from kit yesterday. my second bottle! this time, instead of coconut, i got vanilla bean! i was deciding between mint & eucalyptus and orange-they smell so fresh! but decided on vanilla bean cause i wanted a sweeet smell...put it on your body before a date, wouldn't it be great if your smelling like vanilla ice-cream when your man is working on your legs?? haha!

what to wear
i was going to wear this to a girl talk night with two of my friends last night. it was raining and a bit cold outside, so i wanted to wear socks! i got this socks & boots idea from shopbop's web magazine on see by chloe. (below - btw, my legs arent that long or thin. when i cropped the photo, somehow it stretched vertically).
but i ended up wearing the maxi dress below...more comfortable. i got this dress almost 2 years ago (metalicas). i got the t-shirt (antipodium) about a year ago. when i was looking around the clothing shops recently, i realised wearing a loose top over a maxi was in?! so i've been wearing this maxi like this recently.

obsession
last night, i was obsessively watching videos of daul kim on youtube. my favourite is this chanel coco cocoon collection video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUWQGFBeXAw) - she was smiling a lot in that video. in the russh magazine interview (nov/dec 2009, the left picture is also from the same issue) - 'so, what next? what are you excited about?' - she answers, 'i want happiness'. 'how do you pass the time when you're waiting around on set?' - 'i am very good at sitting still doing nothing. i can sit and not move for two or three hours and not get bored'. it was great to see her smile in that video though, she looked so pretty! the gap - key to a pretty woman? the gap between 'hollow face' & 'smile'!!!
if i like something (or somebody) it often becomes an obsession (baaad! if it's a 'somebody').
for example, music - i loved kelis' milkshake and trick me - then i bought all her cd's (including fleshtone). it's my pattern. if i like something, i usually instantly know that i like it and, i like it deeply. i become a devoted fan! i've been only buying russh for the past 5 years (i cheated with other magazines few times but always came back to my original love!!). for clothing...i like zimmermann...and now am increasingly obsessed with alexander wang. it actually makes shopping easier. you just have to go to that shop, don't have to look around.
i shouldn't forget, one of my flaws is that i have a short attention span. i like it like it like it, then i get bored.
(today's post doesn't make sense at all...what was my point?)

observation
had a little chat with a friend after the seminar about making a little effort and saying hi to someone you recognise from somewhere and i realised, isn't making a little effort one of the ways to freshen your life? a little effort to check on my financial position. after all, aren't i friends with my friends because i made that little effort to say hi and catch up? with friends from school, you may not have had to make efforts to be friends with them in the first place, but making little effort to stay in touch with them has kept you being still good friends? sometimes, things don't happen naturally i think.
i don'r like saying things like, we should all make a little effort each day (setting a number like, at least three a day??) to make a big difference (in the world or in your life or whichever). i just wanted to write down my observation...
by the way, devon aoki has to be my another favourite model! she was a cover girl in this month's russh. i saw her in a japanese fashion magazine more than 10 years ago, how old is she? she still looks the same. i love her make-up in the magazine (above)!! i've been using this eyeshadow from mac for more than a year now. i want new colour. also new lipstick - i have few lip gloss but i feel like matt lip colour now. i saw some really cute dresses from zimmermann today. jogging wears from addidas x stella mccartney.i'm also dreaming about this prada bag i saw in russh (below)...i'll save money to get myself a christmas present...i thought i've become a bit smarter about $.

imperfections
Imperfections, should never be overlooked.
carrie bradshaw once said 'i thought i'd come to terms with my looks the year i turned 30, when i realised that i no longer had the energy to become completely superficial'. reaching the end of 20s myself, i think she used a very clever way of putting it, coming terms with it is so accurate. because it is not quite the same as 'loving it' or even 'liking it' (i think in that episode carrie also ponders about and compares her own looks with perfect looking models). i've read an article in russh (yes my major sourcce of information) about models with 'imperfect' facial features (e.g. gemma ward - alien look they said?) and how they were becoming increasingly popular. i got the new issue of russh today and the magazine described the cover girl as 'gap-toothed bombshell'. i admire her looks tho - probably because she has gappy front teeth like me!! (i must be biased although im far from a bobmshell hahaa). after reading that article ages ago and seeing models like her, i've begun to think, why not take advantage of your imperfections and have fun with it. i still cannot say that i am beautiful, no way, and i will im sure continue to bitch about my looks, teeth, flat chest, wavy and too thick hair. but my approach is, not to try and build so-called 'confidence in yourself' , but more like, have fun with what you've got?

job, moisturiser, apartment
today was unfortunately one of those days when i feel i'm not good enough for the job...
So that this blog remains a shopping diary...i bought this balm from kit yesterday-ingredients all certified organic! i can use it on lips and skins, basically like the famous papaw. i like the smell, reminds me of some sweets from childhood. Orange or chocolate or coconut or all of the above? i also looove the organic moisturiser i bought from kit - it may be a bit too thick to some people's liking, but i think this moisturiser actually works -i think my thighs got softer and stretch marks now look less. the one i got now, coconut oil is almost empty, i'm thinking of getting the vanilla oil one next time...
And one more thing, i saw an ad sign on the street about a 'designer apartment' on the way home tonight. Never seen such an ad before here. interesting. i would want to buy an oldish apartment (preferably bricks) but redo kitchen and bathroom! i run through my dream home fantasy with the help of my favourite website- http://www.theselby.com/!!!

sunday night lows
i wore the t by alexander wang shorts today, with an oversized black t-shirt and a gold bangle - it kind of looked like a romper. i wanted rompers, so it's good :)
sunday is almost over...! the only fun thing remaining is to watch offspring on tv.

prime
i love the movie 'prime' (with uma thurman & meryl streep & brian greenberg). i adore rafi's wardrobe. she is a stylist in the movie (i think) and her work clothes are chiic. and her apartment is my dream apartmeeent!!
story-wise, i love it also - sometimes, you just have to accept that there's nothing to be done about it, but in a good way, not forgetting or giving up but accepting.
left is rafi-inspired work clothes.? (i'm happy for you to disagree...). right - what i wore to work today, with a jacket over it. the tank is by marc by marc jacobs. got it on sale - 30 or 40% off. llike the pattern and material. found out today that it looks good tucked in too, i've only worn it out with leggings before. i know i should be wearing suits to work but just can't be bothered most of the time...and i only have one set of suits, few suit jackets and bottoms. this is what i should be investing my money on...not mini dresses.....

earrings and my shopping habits
i wore the new earrings today, love them! will be wearing them everyday...i only had my ears pierced 2 years ago. i stocked up a few earrings at the start but recently, i've been just wearing the same earrings - gold studs and sometimes the blue mimco ones (pearl ones are broken!). these ones in the box, i have to remind myself that i have them. i like the karen walker earrings because they are moons and not stars! i got the chanel (clip-on) earrings from my mum - she bought them years ago apparently because she mistook their price by 1 digit and it was too late when she realised there was one more zero in the end. the ones in the pictures are all the earrings i have.
also today, i got extra length cami's (black and white) to wear under yesterday's dress! were $17 for 2 from target! to me, shopping has to be 'high and low' - i like brands but i cannot buy everything brand. i wouldn't look good anyway if i covered myself in fendi, chanel, dior, gucci, lv. i would just look ridiculous, with my age and income level. so i love bags and i spend a lot of money on them but i only have few pairs of shoes. my makeup/cosmetic items are minimal. also, i think it's important to try to only buy things that you will care about!

not signed not sealed but delivered!
i received my online orders today! i'm very happy with shopbop.com! ordered wednesday night, shipped from u.s. on friday, arrived here last night and delivered this morning and, free shipping.
first, t by alexander wang dress. it's transpareeeent! i need to buy a slip dress to wear underneath. with the grey-olive dress also, his clothes make bodies look feminine even though they are loose and casual. it's magic!!
second, t by alexander wang shorts. so comfy. a bit loose around the waist so i can wear them to branch/lunch/dinner. the picture is so dark so you can't probably see anything.

and finally, hexagon shape hoop earrings (marc by). it was time for me to buy a new pair of earrings. i've been wearing the gold little stud earrings (the original one from when i got my ears pierced...) almost everyday. the shell compact is a birthday present from my friend. he told me he found it in the market in sydney. it's got lip gloss inside.

on books
moving on is super hard but, it will happen when you are ready. it's in your hands not his.
her books are great, i've read all her novels except one and a few of her essays. the characters in her books are so real. you can relate to them in many ways. not like, the beautiful heroine is torn between two men and is devastated cause they are both lovely, blah.

on models
i also like daul kim - i first saw her in russh issue 31 2009 (left). she kept this amazing blog - iliketoforkmyself.blogspot.com. she is very very cool sexy. her posts are very honest. i love them. i like sugar but i don't like sugar-coating my feelings! especially i like her video with chanel bags and her pictures from morocco.
but her post on 18 november 2009 is the last one - she killed herself, i read in the news.
i like both of them because i think they both have beautiful (stick...) figure which i admire - and they are so cool, sassy. my ideal beauty is that even my hollow face looks cool & sexy! weird, i know...
i also like this japanese model, rinka - i check her blog everyday - www.smooche.jp/rinka. i think she has great sense of style - very cute - in fact, i asked my hairdresser to make my hair look like hers (for the last 3 visits), i bought a pair of converse cause she was wearing them, and i also wanted to start my own blog cause her blog was fun and i wanted to do something similar!!
i'm no celeb but it is really fun to write about my favourite things!!! yeah!!
where do i begin
i've only recently started enjoying online shopping. first i did peter alexander, then did zimmermann last year. this year, i've gone a bit global - net-a-porter.com! so far, i've bought a marine top and a light grey clutch bag. but the highlight of my shopping has to be this dress! it's by alexander wang (he kind of looks like my cousin?), i love it it is very simple cool chic. the downside is, it is so tight around the waist that i have to starve mysellf to be able to fit into it. by the way, i went 'clubbing' in this dress last night! i thought i'd feel like i was 18 again but no, quite the opposite. i felt my age.
last week, i did another online shopping, this time shopbop.com! ordered a dress and shorts by t by alexander wang (this is much more reasonably priced), also a pair of earrings. has already left u.s. and due to arrive this tuesday.
